Tutorial tracks
Read in order, or jump to what you need. Each track takes about 10–15 minutes.
1. How to study for the bar
What the MBE format means for you (200 questions, 175 scored, 1.8 minutes each), where the points live across the seven subjects, and why active recall plus spaced repetition beat re-reading — with a link into Study mode.
2. The MEE essay method
Six 30-minute essays demand IRAC under pressure: issue-spotting drills, the 5-minute outline rule, rule statements that earn points, and how graders actually score — with an original worked example (a teaching example, never a real MEE question).
3. The MPT approach
Two 90-minute lawyering tasks where the law is given to you: reading the library before the file, the task memo as your compass, and how to produce a passing answer from unfamiliar material.
4. The MPRE
The 60-question ethics exam almost every jurisdiction requires: how the Model Rules are tested, the call-of-the-question traps, and why "what would a good lawyer do" is usually the wrong instinct.
Guided study plans
Eli coaches these plans with you. Each week maps to the seven MBE subjects plus essay and MPT practice, with daily targets, practice volumes, review days, and milestone self-assessments. If Study mode shows a weak subject, Eli re-weights the week around it — the plans explain how that loop works.
12-week plan — the sprint
For students testing within a season. Focused weeks across all seven subjects, MEE and MPT practice woven in from week one, timed milestone exams, and daily Eli check-ins.
16-week plan — the build
For students who want depth. Foundations first, then subject-by-subject depth, MEE/MPT bootcamp weeks, a full review week, and a capstone before a final taper.
Put it into practice. Tutorials teach; practice makes it stick. Run your daily Study mode session, drill ten-card rounds in Quick flashcards, and sit timed blocks in Take an exam. When anything confuses you, the Ask Eli button (bottom of the page) opens Eli, the SI Law assistant — paste him your question or your plan check-in.
A note on sources
Exam facts on these pages come from the NCBE's published exam descriptions (MBE, MEE, MPT, MPRE) at ncbex.org/exams and the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Confirm the current rules and your jurisdiction's requirements at those sources — exam details change, and your state bar has the final word. Study-method claims cite the research by name. Everything else — the plans, the routines, the strategic advice — is our synthesis, labeled "Our read:". We never reproduce real bar exam items or long copyrighted passages.
