The 12-week sprint

For students testing within about three months. Twelve focused weeks across the seven MBE subjects, with MEE essay and MPT practice woven in from week 3, timed milestone exams, and daily Eli check-ins. Our read on volume: aim for roughly 40–60 MBE questions a day plus your Study mode cards — about 2 focused hours. Quality beats quantity: every miss gets reviewed and logged.

MBE subject coverage: NCBE, MBE Subject Matter Outline. Daily volumes and pacing are our synthesis, labeled "Our read" throughout.

Our read: the daily template Every study day follows the same skeleton: 20 min Study mode (clear due cards) → 45 min timed MBE block on this week's subjects (25 questions, 1.8 min each, one pass) → 20–30 min review — read every explanation, log misses by subject and error type (didn't know the rule / misread the call / misapplied / ran out of time). Twice a week, swap one MBE block for a 30-minute essay or a 90-minute MPT. Day 7 is review-only: error log, weak-subject re-test, no new material.

The twelve weeks

Weeks 1–2 — Foundations: how the exam works + your baseline

All 7 subjects
  • Read Tutorial 1. Take the 12-question demo, then one full timed 40-question practice exam as a diagnostic — no prep first; the score is your baseline, not your verdict.
  • Set up your error log (subject + error type per miss). Begin daily Study mode.
  • Read Tutorial 4 if you haven't taken the MPRE — schedule it for week 6 or 7.

Weeks 3–4 — Civil Procedure + Constitutional Law

Civil ProcedureConstitutional Law
  • Civ Pro: jurisdiction (personal, subject matter), venue, Erie, pleadings, discovery, preclusion. Con Law: federal power, individual rights, levels of scrutiny, First Amendment.
  • One 30-minute essay per week from week 3 on — use the MEE method (5-minute outline, IRAC blocks, rescue minutes).

Weeks 5–6 — Contracts + Criminal Law and Procedure

ContractsCriminal Law and Procedure
  • Contracts: formation, UCC vs. common law, performance/breach, remedies. Crim: substantive crimes and defenses; 4th, 5th, 6th Amendment procedure.
  • Milestone 1 (end of week 6): 100-question timed MBE block, exam conditions. Debrief every miss with Eli the same day.
Milestone self-assessment 1 (end of week 6). 100 timed MBE questions. Our read: 65%+ and you're on pace. Under ~65%, tell Eli — he'll add a remediation loop on your weakest subjects before week 7. Either way, log every miss by subject and error type.

Weeks 7–8 — Evidence + Real Property

EvidenceReal Property
  • Evidence: relevance, hearsay and every exception, character evidence, privileges, impeachment. Real Property: estates, future interests, recording acts, mortgages, landlord-tenant.
  • MPRE week if you haven't taken it: drill the MPRE bank daily (see Tutorial 4).
  • Essays continue weekly; add your first timed MPT (90 minutes) in week 8 — task memo first, library before file.

Weeks 9–10 — Torts + mixed review + writing volume

TortsMixed MBEMEE + MPT
  • Torts: negligence (duty/breach/causation/damages), strict liability, products, defamation, damages.
  • Shift to mixed-subject timed blocks — the MBE interleaves all seven subjects, so your practice should too.
  • Two essays + one MPT per week now. Milestone 2 (end of week 10): 3 essays in 90 minutes + one 90-minute MPT, back to back — your writing dress rehearsal.

Week 11 — Full review: the error log is the curriculum

Weakest subjects first
  • No new subjects. Re-work your entire error log from memory — every miss you can't now answer correctly gets re-drilled the next day.
  • Two more timed essays + one MPT. One 100-question mixed MBE block mid-week.

Week 12 — Taper

Light review only
  • Light review of your error log and rule flashcards. One timed 40-question block early in the week, then stop.
  • Normal sleep all week. The day before the exam: no new material — stop studying by dinner.

How the plan adapts

The plan above is the default route. Your actual route adjusts based on what Study mode and your practice blocks reveal — this is the loop Eli coaches:

  1. Study mode finds the weak subjects. Your daily sessions rank weakness by MBE subject from your own answers — never anyone else's. Check the weak-subject list every Sunday.
  2. Eli re-weights the week. Tell Eli your weak subjects (or paste your milestone results) and he'll reshape the coming days: roughly a 60/40 split favoring weak subjects in practice blocks, plus a drop-in remediation session — targeted questions, then re-test from memory the next day.
  3. Milestones gate the pace. Our read: if a milestone lands well under ~65%, don't just push forward — add 2–3 remediation days on the weakest subjects first, then re-test. A plan that adapts beats a plan that's merely completed.
  4. Anything can be rebalanced on demand. The prompt pattern is: "Rebalance my week — my weakest subjects are [X, Y]." Paste that to Eli any day and he'll re-draft your remaining days around it.

Need more time? The 16-week plan covers the same ground with a foundations phase, deeper subject weeks, MEE/MPT bootcamp weeks, and a full review week. Same adaptive loop, more breathing room.
