The 16-week build

For students who want depth: a foundations phase, then two weeks per MBE subject, MEE/MPT bootcamp weeks, a full review week, and a taper. Our read on volume: roughly 35–50 MBE questions a day plus Study mode cards — about 90 focused minutes. Slower pace, deeper roots: every rule gets learned, drilled, and re-tested.

MBE subject coverage: NCBE, MBE Subject Matter Outline. Daily volumes and pacing are our synthesis, labeled "Our read" throughout.

Our read: the daily template 20 min Study mode (clear due cards) → 40 min timed MBE block on this week's subject (untimed study blocks are fine in weeks 1–4 while you learn the rules) → 20 min review — every miss logged by subject and error type. One essay or MPT session per week from week 5. Day 7 is review-only.

The sixteen weeks

Weeks 1–2 — Foundations + diagnostic

Exam mechanicsAll 7 subjects
  • Read Tutorial 1 (MBE method) and Tutorial 2 (essays). Take the 12-question demo, then a timed 40-question diagnostic — your baseline.
  • Set up your error log. Start daily Study mode. If you haven't taken the MPRE, read Tutorial 4 and schedule it for week 8.

Weeks 3–4 — Civil Procedure

Civil Procedure
  • Jurisdiction (personal, subject matter, removal), venue and transfer, Erie, pleadings, discovery, summary judgment, preclusion. Untimed study blocks while you learn the rules; switch to timed in week 4.
  • Begin the essay habit: one 30-minute Civ Pro essay in week 4.

Weeks 5–6 — Constitutional Law

Constitutional Law
  • Federal judicial, legislative, and executive power; federalism; individual rights — due process, equal protection (all three tiers of scrutiny), First Amendment speech/religion.
  • Weekly essay continues. Milestone 1 (end of week 6): 50-question timed mixed block (Civ Pro + Con Law).
Milestone self-assessment 1 (end of week 6). 50 timed questions across the two finished subjects. Our read: 65%+ and you're on pace; under that, add remediation days before moving on.

Weeks 7–8 — Contracts (+ MPRE week)

ContractsMPRE
  • Contracts: formation (offer/acceptance/consideration), UCC vs. common law, Statute of Frauds, performance, breach, remedies, third-party rights.
  • MPRE week: if you haven't taken it, drill the MPRE bank daily this week and sit the exam. Ethics rules reward short, intense study.

Weeks 9–10 — Criminal Law and Procedure

Criminal Law and Procedure
  • Substantive crimes (homicide, inchoate offenses, defenses) then procedure: 4th Amendment search/seizure, 5th Amendment Miranda/self-incrimination, 6th Amendment counsel, due process.
  • First timed MPT in week 10 (90 minutes) — task memo first, library before file. Milestone 2 (end of week 10): 50-question timed mixed block (Contracts + Crim).

Weeks 11–12 — Evidence + Real Property

EvidenceReal Property
  • Evidence: relevance, hearsay and exceptions, character, impeachment, privileges, best evidence. Real Property: estates and future interests, recording acts, mortgages, landlord-tenant, easements/covenants.
  • Essays: two per week now, timed. Milestone 3 (end of week 12): 3 essays in 90 minutes — writing dress rehearsal part one.

Weeks 13 – Torts + MEE/MPT bootcamp

TortsWriting bootcamp
  • Torts: negligence in full, strict liability, products liability, defamation/privacy, damages, defenses.
  • Bootcamp: three timed essays + two timed MPTs this week. Paste each to Eli for IRAC/MPT rubric scoring the same day.

Week 14 — Mixed MBE volume

All 7 subjects, interleaved
  • All practice is now mixed-subject timed blocks — the MBE interleaves everything, and so do you. Two 50-question blocks this week plus daily Study mode.
  • One more timed MPT. Keep the error log current; it is now your primary study document.
Milestone self-assessment 4 (end of week 14). 100-question timed mixed MBE block, exam conditions. Our read: this is your MBE dress rehearsal — rehearse pacing (1:48 per question), decisiveness, and the mark-and-move-on habit.

Week 15 — Full review: the error log is the curriculum

Weakest subjects first
  • No new material. Re-work your entire error log from memory — anything you still miss gets re-drilled the next day.
  • Two timed essays + one MPT early in the week. Flashcards for rule statements you keep fumbling.

Week 16 — Taper

Light review only
  • Light review of your error log and rule flashcards. One timed 40-question block early in the week, then stop.
  • Normal sleep all week. The day before the exam: no new material — stop studying by dinner.

How the plan adapts

The plan above is the default route. Your actual route adjusts based on what Study mode and your practice blocks reveal — this is the loop Eli coaches:

  1. Study mode finds the weak subjects. Your daily sessions rank weakness by MBE subject from your own answers — never anyone else's. Check the weak-subject list every Sunday.
  2. Eli re-weights the week. Tell Eli your weak subjects (or paste your milestone results) and he'll reshape the coming days: roughly a 60/40 split favoring weak subjects in practice blocks, plus a drop-in remediation session — targeted questions, then re-test from memory the next day.
  3. Milestones gate the pace. Our read: if a milestone lands well under ~65%, don't just push forward — add 2–3 remediation days on the weakest subjects first, then re-test. A plan that adapts beats a plan that's merely completed.
  4. Anything can be rebalanced on demand. The prompt pattern is: "Rebalance my week — my weakest subjects are [X, Y]." Paste that to Eli any day and he'll re-draft your remaining days around it.

Try it now:

Short on time? The 12-week plan covers the same ground as a sprint: twelve focused weeks, writing woven in from week 3, milestones at weeks 6 and 10. Same adaptive loop, faster pace.
